Lookups in milliseconds,
wherever your visitors are.
We'll handle the DNS. You handle picking the name.
What is anycast, and why does it matter?
Traditional DNS runs on a handful of nameservers, usually in one or two physical locations. If your visitor is in Sydney and your nameserver is in Virginia, every single lookup crosses the Pacific before your page can even start loading.
Anycast flips that. One IP address gets announced from every point of presence at once. Your visitor's network routes them to the closest one automatically: Sydney for a visitor in Melbourne, Amsterdam for one in Brussels, Dallas for one in Houston.
The result is DNS lookups in single-digit milliseconds, from anywhere, every time. If a POP ever goes down, traffic re-routes itself to the next-nearest one. There's no failover config and no provider to call at 2am.
From Seattle to Sydney, and eleven more in between.
Anywhere on the planet, your visitors are one POP away.
Included with every domain you register or transfer in. No tier upgrade required.
Bring the traffic. We sized the network for our own infrastructure first.
Time our network from where you are
Connected to major internet hubs on four continents, keeping latency low.
- Americas
- Seattle Los Angeles Dallas Miami Ashburn São Paulo
- Europe
- Paris Amsterdam Vienna Warsaw
- Asia-Pacific
- Singapore Tokyo Sydney
Your browser could not reach any of the test endpoints, so there is nothing to time from here. A content blocker or a locked-down network is the usual reason.
Built like infrastructure, priced like a feature
Most registrars charge extra for premium DNS or push you to a third-party service. We run our own network and give it away with every domain.
No configuration
Point your nameservers at ours. Done. There's no "upgrade to anycast" toggle because every domain we host already has it.
Self-healing failover
If a POP drops, BGP routes your visitors to the next-closest one automatically. No outage page, no support ticket, no failover endpoint for you to maintain.
DDoS protection by design
Anycast spreads queries across every POP, so a flood that would flatten a single nameserver gets diluted across the whole network instead.
Full control over your records

Common questions
What people ask before moving their DNS.
Anycast DNS comes with every domain registered or transferred to NameCrane. A transferring domain's zone is created as soon as the transfer starts, so you can import your existing records before the nameservers change over.
Nothing. It's part of the domain, with no query limits and no premium tier to upgrade to.
Saving a record updates it on our nameservers straight away. Resolvers that cached the old answer keep it until its TTL runs out, and you set the TTL on every record.
Yes. The NameCrane API can list, add, change and delete records, import or export a whole zone, and update a record from a changing IP address for dynamic DNS.
Your visitors are routed to the next-nearest point of presence automatically. There's nothing to configure and nothing for you to switch over.
Faster lookups, no setup required
Every domain you register with NameCrane includes anycast DNS. Bring an existing domain over and you get it too.
