BuyShared is launched
Affordable cPanel-based shared hosting hits the scene. Great pricing, decent performance, good features. Unfortunately it was always a struggle of "which company should get more attention".
Francisco attempts to ship servers to Luxembourg
During Francisco's days with BuyVM, He shipped an entire crate of equipment to Luxembourg. Countless delays and overall incompetence by the shipping company was ultimately topped off by them delivering a crane clutch instead of servers.
What was thought to be a joke by the datacenter was quickly realized to be real.
A registrar suspension sparks an idea
A missed contact verification email leads to a week-long suspension by a registrar that's woefully understaffed. Many declarations of "I'm going to make my own domain registrar", with a few extra expletives, lays the foundation. With the crane incident fresh in everyone's head, we knew exactly what to name it. NameCrane is born.
The gang makes it official
The LLC is filed, the domains are secured, time to make it public! On October 21st, Francisco & Mike announced their intentions to launch a fully ICANN-accredited domain registrar.
ICANN accreditation process begins
Francisco & Mike begin the long and arduous process of becoming accredited with ICANN.

NameCrane acquires BuyShared customers & equipment
BuyShared customers became NameCrane customers, and all servers were given a full refresh.
Research & planning begins for CraneMail
Since the start we always knew we needed a proper email hosting offering.
We ultimately settled on SmarterMail, greatly extending it to add multiple domains & reseller capabilities.
NameCrane becomes fully ICANN accredited
In a moment we questioned would ever happen, ICANN approves our application. We immediately begin developing our EPP backend, while also attending Zoom calls with multiple registries.
XYZ takes 1st place, accrediting us within 24 hours.
SpamExperts added free for all users
In a push to greatly improve our service offerings, SpamExperts is added to all shared & reseller hosting services at no additional cost.
CraneMail launches on Black Friday
Many cheers, and at least 1 death threat later, CraneMail is a huge hit during the LowEndTalk Black Friday sales.
The product is quickly improved by adding Exchange ActiveSync® compatibility, an unofficial rclone build, and an FTPS/SFTP server to access cloud storage.
Luxembourg users migrated to The Netherlands; CraneMail EU launches
With our Luxembourg location closing down, all services are live-migrated to The Netherlands with essentially no downtime. CraneMail EU launches shortly after, with much praise from privacy-focused customers & businesses alike.
Major hardware refresh across all locations
Fighting off the non-stop onslaught of AI scraping ends with a total company-wide refresh from 24-thread AMD Ryzen servers to 192-thread AMD Genoa servers.
EPP system rebuild & public testing begins
A total rewrite of our EPP system is started, handled entirely by Francisco. Better integration and proper handling of Premium Domains are the key changes.
Public testing of domain registration
Public testing begins on domains using registry OT&E accounts. Franbux for everyone.
